When must new enrolments into SIF30308 stop?

New enrolments are not permitted from 21 June 2014 — one year from the date the replacement was included on the National Register (s 14(1)(a)(i) of the National VET Regulator (Compliance Standards for NVR RTOs and Fit and Proper Person Requirements) Instrument 2025 (F2025L00355, in force 1 July 2025)), or from a later date if ASQA has approved otherwise for your organisation.

Is there a deadline for learners already enrolled in SIF30308?

Learners already enrolled have no fixed deadline: they complete the product and are issued their AQF certification, or transfer to the replacement, in a timely manner (ASQA guidance, read live 25 August 2026).

Revised qualification provides greater flexibility to meet industry/organisational outcomes. Changes to packaging rules include the removal of specialisations and greater choice of imported units from other training packages and accredited courses. The total number of units required to complete this qualification is 14. For SIF30308, this was 13 or 14 units depending on specialist stream undertaken. The number of core units has decreased from 5 to 4. The number of elective units is 10. For SIF30308, this was 9 or 10 units depending on specialist stream undertaken.
